    Messi, Mbappe among FIFA Best Football Awards 2022 finalists

    FIFA announced today the final list of nominees for the Best Football Awards 2022. The Best FIFA Men’s Player are Lionel Messi (Argentina/Paris Saint-Germain FC), Kylian Mbappe (France/Paris Saint-Germain FC), Karim Benzema (France/Real Madrid CF). The final three nominees for Best FIFA Women’s Player are Beth Mead (England/Arsenal WFC), Alex Morgan (USA/Orlando Pride/San Diego Wave) and Alexia Putellas (Spain/FC Barcelona).

    Messi, Mbappe among FIFA Best Football Awards 2022 finalistsThe final three nominees for Best FIFA Women’s Coach are Sonia Bompastor (Olympique Lyonnais), Pia Sundhage (Brazilian National Team) and Sarina Wiegman (English National Team). The final three nominees for Best FIFA Men’s Coach are Lionel Scaloni (Argentinian National Team), Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid CF) and Pep Guardiola (Manchester City FC).

    The final three nominees for Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper are Ann-Katrin Berger (Germany/Chelsea FC Women), Mary Earps (England/ Manchester United WFC) and Christiane Endler (Chile/Olympique Lyonnais). The final three nominees for Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper are Emiliano Martinez (Argentina/Aston Villa FC), Yassine Bounou (Morocco/Sevilla FC) and Thibaut Courtois (Belgium/Real Madrid CF).

    A jury comprised of current coaches of all women’s and men’s national teams (one per team), current captains of all women’s and men’s national teams (one per team), one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team, and FIFA.com fans voted for the finalists. In the Rules of Allocation, the complete voting and award process is outlined. The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022 will be crowned in Paris on Monday, 27 February 2023.
